Born and raised fourth generation in Mendocino County, Buster moved away from the area at age twelve after the loss of his parents. Longing to return to the area that inspired his art has been a dream come true thirty-five years later.

While attending Chico State, Buster was introduced to glass blowing by artist Jack Schmidt. Inspired by the love of glass, Buster built his own studio in the central valley. He was self-taught and exhibited in one-man shows at various galleries thoughout the country. He attended Pilchuck Glass School in the state of Washington and was a guest instructor at CalPoly State University.

Buster’s work is a reflection of his family history and his love for the coastal area. Works that reflect the loss of his parents often bear a candy cane.

The Glass Fire Gallery is located on Highway One in Fort Bragg, next to the Botanical Gardens. The gallery opened in 2005, with a glass blowing studio on site for the public to observe Buster in action.
